Happy jumping

Happy multiplies gym gains. Happy jumping means raising your happy on purpose, then spending a block of energy in the gym while that boost is still up. There is no special “jump” button — it is timing plus items plus the gym.

The 15-minute reset

Every quarter hour — at :00, :15, :30, and :45 — Torn pulls your happy back toward your normal baseline. Extra happy you stacked can disappear at that tick. Raise happy just after a reset, then train before the next one. Raising happy at :14 and training at :16 often wastes the money.

Beginner method: Sweet Shop candy

This is the usual first jump. Prices change, but the process stays the same.

Prepare

  • Have a real chunk of energy ready (ideally a full bar).
  • Keep some cash for medical items — do not candy your last dollar.
  • Pick one focus stat for the session (Strength is common early).
  • Have the Gym page ready so you are not hunting menus mid-jump.

Do the jump

  1. Wait until just after :00, :15, :30, or :45.
  2. Open City → Sweet Shop. Buy a stack of cheap candy (lollipops are the classic starter).
  3. Open Items and use the candy until your happy is clearly much higher.
  4. Go straight to the Gym and train your focus stat until the energy is gone (or happy has crashed).
  5. Earn more cash, wait for the next window, repeat.
Candy also adds booster cooldown. When the game says you are out of booster cooldown, stop stacking more candy for that window.

Optional: Ecstasy

Ecstasy is a drug that roughly doubles your current happy. Use it after candy (or better boosters), then train immediately. It has a drug cooldown and can be dangerous if you stack drugs carelessly. Learn candy → gym first; add Ecstasy when you understand the loop.

When to jump vs attack

Before level 15, jump until you can Leave Baldr List 3 cleanly, then put most energy into attacks. Over-training delays Travel. After 15, travel income funds bigger jumps — same habit, larger stacks. See Level 15 and Flying.

Later (more money)

With Travel cash, people move to better happy items and sometimes stack energy with Xanax before a big train. Ask your faction what is worth it at your stage. Do not copy a multi-million jump while you are still racing to 15.

Common mistakes

  • Raising happy right before a quarter-hour reset
  • Buying candy with almost no energy left
  • Using candy, then browsing for ten minutes before the gym
  • Training every stat a little instead of focusing one
